BOSL Browns in the SFL Super Bowl!
BOSL Browns Are in The Playoffs-Get Tickets for Sunday

Woot! The BOSL Browns are on a roll. The Browns made it to the play offs and Sunday, June 5th we were scheduled to play our first playoff game. The guys had been practising and the cheerleaders made a perfect run through of our half time routine prior to the scheduled game time then hit the sidelines to rev up the large crowd of fans that showed up. But after a short delay we were told the Browns were given the win, as the opposing team forfeited due to lack of enough players for the day. Tickets were refunded so I hope all those people get tickes for this Sunday's game. This was not our ideal way to win, but hey, we get to advance! Woot! So our next game is this coming Sunday, June 12th at 3pm SLT. Get your tickets for 500L each at the marketplace here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Sunday-June-12th-Second-Football-League-SFL-Ticket-BOSL-Browns-vs-Valhalla-Packers/2342637 or direct link here: BOSLTicketsHere.
As a side note, sadly I won't be cheering Sunday as I have a huge RL family reunion this weekend which will be great fun, but I'll miss my team. Good luck guys, and ladies I know you'll cheer great and look amazing as always! Have fun!

SFL League Games -Get Your Tickets Now!

The SFL (Second Football League) was off to a great start last weekend after a somewhat lengthy pre-season. If you have been following my blog you will know that my original co-owners split and eventually disbanded following a merg. Our original team has kind of scattered to the wind but I think that was not uncommon as pre-season sorted out. The remaining 13 teams have worked hard and their time and practice should show that.
(Quick snap I took in my new "away" uniform!)
Recently I joined up with the BOSL Browns cheer squad. I actually write monthly for "The Best Of Second Life" magazine covering events and fashion... check that out here: http://www.thebosl.com/january-issue or direct link here: BOSLHere. So the BOSL Browns seems a good fit for me at this time. Plus the ladies have very classy uniforms and I'm very excited to be joining them.
Last weekend was the league opening games and Sunday even held a surprising tie between the Patriots and Packers for a sudden death ending. Some of the games, or maybe all, are televised so you can also watch online or reruns later here: http://metaversetv.com/live/ or direct link here: MetaTVHere.
This weekend game schedule:
Friday @ 6pm - SFL Stadium: Polano Chargers v. TGF Dolphins
Sat. @ 3pm - SFL Stadium: Heartland Cardinals v. GC Redskins
Sun. @ 6pm - SFL Stadium: BOSL Browns vs. DC Giants
The BOSL Browns first league game is this Sunday so be sure to get your tickets on the marketplace here:https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/SFL-Official-Ticket-BOSL-Browns-vs-Diamond-City-Giants/1845793 or direct link here: TicketsHere.
Sunday I will be dressed out in squad uniform on sideline cheering the game on with a group of cheerleaders while some of the the cheerleaders present their half time dance show they have prepared. If you want to watch the game or see me up close cheering be sure to get your tickets!

SLF Football-Heartland Cardinals

Are you ready for some football? Well, I am. It's about time I updated on the status of my SFL cheer leading experiences. After quite some time with the Bengals team that never seemed to quite get off the ground with only a few players, one of our owners decided to back out leaving us to merge with the Heartland Cardinals, an established team also in need of players and cheerleaders. Journey McLaglen and Raubin Sachertorte joined forces forming what is today the Heartland Cardinals, a team with a full roster. The changes were many not only within our team but with SFL in general. The men quickly began practices and attempts to obtain more players until they signed their last few players just a couple of days prior to our first pre-season game last Saturday. The cheerleaders underwent some administrative changes, not without a bit of drama, but also pulled together with less than a week before game day a full group of eight girls for half time (up from 4 that was previously allowed) and an additional 6 on the sidelines. Rules changed and the cheer squads can now have up to 16 girls with 8 for half time and 8 for sideline at each game if desired or all are able to be present. I was very impressed that a song was picked, remixed to fit the time constraints, a routine developed and learned all within less than a week and come Saturday the team and cheerleaders felt pretty ready. I should not have had any doubts, as the boys played hard and led the game against the experienced Packers the entire game for a final score of 35 to 16. I was also impressed that so many of the men excelled in different ways. As for the cheerleaders, I was also proud of the end result with less that a week for that routine. One cheerleader crashed but had a quick recovery and found her spot, so all in all I'd say it was pretty good. I have watched several games and seen squads with crashed cheerleaders and empty spots and girls having a hard time moving to spots due to lag or some reason, so I was actually very pleased with our results and we had a lot of compliments. It's my understanding tweet.tv will be broadcasting their filming of the game and I hope they also captured us cheerleaders in that. I will post a link when/if I find it.

Pre-season has ended and Season games will start the beginning of December. At this point it's my understand that they are still mainly allowing only teams, special guests, and owners/players/cheerleaders of other teams in during games. After the initial game attempt at allowing anyone in and over 500 people trying to show up in the 3 sim area and the field scripts still with a few bugs, I guess they wanted to be able to be sure the games can be properly played before opening to full public again. At this point the games are fun to watch and it's very much like real football with the sportscasters announcing, the music and sounds, cheer leaders and of course the football players with their real plays actually participating live with their avatars. It's pretty impressive.
An added bonus to this team is that one of the owners has a bar called the Lonestar. Granted it's a country western bar, but they have "regular" music on Thursday nights and actually mix up the stuff other nights pretty well too with an ongoing crowd that is fun to hang around with. Above the practice stadium area and cheer leading practice field there is a platform that houses a really cool players club that includes a dance club area, Cardinals gift shop and a stadium seating theater area. We had a party Sunday night to celebrate the win Saturday and I really like that place a lot.

Yay- Talamasca Bengals, Cheerleaders with the Second Football League!

Today I had an official practice with the cheer squad for the SLF Talamasca Bengals football team. There has been a HUGE amount of work and organization by many people in the beginning of this new SL sport. A week ago today began player drafts and prior to that many cheerleader applicants went through basic training, exhibition and drafts which continue.
Romeo Torvalar is the founder and CEO of the SFL. The SFL, launched in May of this year, utilizes revolutionary animations and other components to bring Second Life residents a truly immersive and life-like American football experience. With killer-app custom design and animation, including the ability for Players to be injured in real time, unique merchandising, and an independent team ownership structure, the SFL is creating an exciting new way for Football to be virtual. It will have over 32 teams with owners, players, cheerleaders and coaches. The SFL has an exclusive contract with TreetTV, one of SL’s most watched networks. I guess league games are slated to begin some time in September.
Dirk Talamasca is our team owner along with Journey McLaglen, and Aealla Illyar is the Cheer Coach. I feel lucky to be with this team as I hear Dirk Talamasca is with SL Mentors, JIRA Participant, Linden Lab Good Citizen and is said to be an extremely talented builder and active in making SL a better place for residents. I was very excited when Journey, designer and owner of Prism Haute Couture and BOSL writer, called me up in the last cheerleader draft and along with Aealla offered me a spot on their squad.
I think the little avs look so cute in the matching outfits and sync'd cheer/dance routines. I'm looking forward to getting our team squad outfits. Even the practice is fun, but I sure hope I don't crash during a game performance. I guess everyone is going to need to come see Kara cheer/dance then stay to cheer on our team. I haven't told them yet I have an awesome tiger skin and also av.. wonder what they'd think of that! Yay for cute mascots too! O, and a totally awesome stadium that is like real inside and out!
I have heard that it might not be too late to apply for player and cheerleader spots, so if interested, check it out.
